In addition to these study spaces, Treadwell's second floor is now also home to the MGH Learning Laboratory, "a collaborative institutional effort designed to unify simulation-based training and research across an MGH community of practice." The Learning Lab is an exciting new resource at MGH, and Treadwell is proud to be part of this effort. Last night, Treadwell Library and Learning Lab hosted the lab's official ribbon cutting!
Beth Schneider, our director, and Jim Gordon, the Learning Lab's program lead, both spoke about the partnership between Treadwell and the Learning Lab; they explained that the lab's location in the library is not a coincidence, and that it will - and already has - fostered a closer relationship between the librarians here at Treadwell and the simulated medicine community at MGH. MGH President Peter Slavin also spoke about this partnership and the role it will play in furthering a culture of education at the hospital.
Below are a few of our own photos from last night's event; we at Treadwell would like to thank everyone who attended, and express again our enthusiasm to be working with and alongside the Learning Lab team!
