QUOSA Classes at Treadwell

I've been teaching a monthly QUOSA class at Treadwell Library for about six months now. QUOSA seems to have become a fairly popular tool for easy full-text retrieval of PDFs and for organizing your articles into a searchable personal library.

Along the way, I've been able to identify what it is class attendees are looking to learn, beyond the basic functions at the core of what QUOSA does, and I've tried to tailor the classes accordingly. To that end, while the hour-long session will continue to focus on searching, retrieving and saving results; getting your existing data into QUOSA; and exporting references to your preferred citation manager, I'm adding an (optional) extra half-hour to the class.

The additional half hour will focus on data management. That is, everyone seems interested in figuring out how to set up QUOSA so that the data you see on your Partners workstation is the same data you'll see on your laptop, or whatever else your second computer is. There are a few different ways of managing this functionality, and I'll be going over these in the optional half hour.

The next QUOSA class is Thursday, February 10 from 10-11am, in the Treadwell Library Conference Room. For those interested, the data management portion will run from 11-11:30. For additional information and to register, please check out Treadwell's Class Schedule.
